Recording Options

A variety of different options are available for recording oral history interviews. Here are several.

Digital Audio Recorder

  1. Can be battery operated
  2. Should record in WAV or MP3
  3. Should have USB cable or plug to connect to a computer
  4. Examples: Sony ICD PX820 – digital voice recorder or Sony ICD PX312 – digital voice recorder

Smart Phone App

  1. iTalk Recorder (free for iOS)
While video recorders and video recording apps can also be used, Storychasers recommends recording audio and then later adding images as "B-Roll" visuals for your story.
